  1. I met Mr. Hoshang Pourang in the shopping center behind South Coast Plaza I think 25 years ago, we had dinner and chatted for about couple of hours, I don’t know what started the conversation, but I remember it to be a very respectful and comfortable chat with a star. then his son came to pick him up and they offered very generously to drive me home, which I appreciatively accepted. God bless his soul, may he rest in peace and head for heaven.

Ironically, I met Mr. Pourang during a funeral at El Toro Memorial Park in the summer of 2007, when I was 19 years old. He was already looking for to the annual Mehregan Festival. He was a proud Iranian but above all else, he was a firm believer in happiness and humanity. As our hearts beat with the heart of Mother Earth, may his memory be a light for us to never take one moment of life for granted and to be inspired by his beautiful soul. His life was proof that if you work hard and with dignity on this planet, you can share the material and cultural goods human beings need. Each of us will eventually be like all the rest. Everybody’s turn comes, but the passing of Mr. Pourang in 2016 was indeed quite sad. May he eternally Rest In Peace
