Ginny was a delight to work with and will be missed by many, many people. I worked with her in the orchard, at a Master Gardener booth and other venues. She was always friendly and kind.

Ginny was one of the coolest, funniest, most giving people I’ve met. She loved working with the Master Food Preserver program, and she helped train me and so many others. She will be missed by all of us. She always had a sly smile or funny comment for me, and loved my tattoos. Wishing you well wherever you are, Ginny.

I met Ginny through Master Gardeners and was always impressed that she always took a moment out of her day to be thankful, grateful and positive.

Ginny, you’re such a beautiful soul. Thank you for always being kind, friendly, spunky, and just you. I’m saddened to hear of your passing, but happy it was spent with loved ones. You will be missed.

    To Mike and Family
Thank you so much for sharing you wonderful wife and sister with me, she will be sorely missed. Always smart as a whip and fiesty, but so thoughtful and kind to others and ready to help when she can. I looked back at all the times spent volunteering with her at Orange Coast College, planting, transplanting, helping out at the Spring and Pointsettias Plant Sale. Her guidance and advice for classes that I’ve taken with her has been so helpful. I’ve always admired how smart and quick she was with her answer and response. I called her phone last week to let her know that I will be graduating from the Master Gardener Program but her voicemail was full and and being Ginny, she was probable busy doing taxes and that I’ll see her at the OCC Spring Plant Sale. The last time I saw her was at John Kabashima retirement banquet, we would pile out plates high with food and desserts and laughed cause we love to eat.
    Sincerely, Esa Kiefer

    To Mike and Family,
I was saddened and surprised when I found out that Ginny passed away. I remember when I first met her, she was one of my students in the Orange Coast College Pest Management class. She told me of her accident and how horticulture was a therapy for her as she was recovering. She became a friend of my wife and I and one of my dearest Master Gardeners who always made me smile when I saw her mischievious smile. Ginny had all the qualities one could wish for in a friend; intelligence, humor, loyalty, honesty, and someone you could always count on. I will miss her dearly.

Ginny was a kindred soul. I always enjoyed talking to her on just about everything. She was so considerate and thoughtful. When persimmons were in season, she would drop some off at my house as she knew I loved to dehydrate them for my mother (may she rest in peace). Life is too short and friends like Ginny don’t come around that often. I cherish the time I was able to spend with her.
