Rosa Aida Jones
Rosa Aida Jones, known by all as Rossy, passed away on Monday August 20th, 2018 in her home in Laguna Beach, CA from complications related to dementia and Parkinson’s disease. She leaves her husband Benjamin Jones, CA and her brother Tom Corujo and husband Scott Baumann of Florida, Rossy’s other siblings Elba, Juan Luis and Guillermo Martinez of Puerto Rico..
She was predeceased by her three sons Eliot Espana, Edwin Espana and Ernie Joe Espana.
Rossy was born and raised in Puerto Rico and moved to Brooklyn as a young woman where she raised her 3 sons and studied Medical Transcription. She worked for Lenox Hill Hospital for many years as medical transcription supervisor. She moved to Laguna Beach, CA during the 1980s and became an integral part of the community. Rossy was active with numerous charitable organizations, one of which she was most proud of was the Orange County Aids walk where she was the lead fund raiser for many years.
She was an active member and organizer of the Laguna Canyon Club for nearly 40 years where she leaves numerous friends. Rossy was known for her positive outlook for life, and her zest for travel and knowledge.
Services to be held in Laguna Beach and Brooklyn, New York to be announced at a later date. The family requests donations if desired to be made in her name to the PSP Foundation and the Laguna Canyon Club.
A memorial has been set up for September 23rd at the Laguna Canyon Club In Laguna Beach, California. Please check with Benjamin Jones for details.
